TLILIC0024 Licence to operate a vehicle loading crane (capacity 10 metre tonnes and above).

This unit specifies the skills and knowledge required to safely operate a vehicle loading crane with a Maximum Rated Capacity (MRC) of 10 metre tonnes or more. Competence in this unit, does not in itself result in a High-Risk Work Licence (HRWL) to operate this plant.

Vehicle loading crane means a crane mounted on a vehicle for loading and unloading the vehicle.

This unit requires a person operating a slewing vehicle loading crane with a MRC of 10 metre tonnes or more to:

• plan for the work/task
• prepare for the work/task
• perform work/task
• pack up.

Formal Training conducted by SDS: (both theory and practical)

• Duration 5 days
• Issuance of log book for recording of practical hours under supervision
• Challenge Test completion

Assessment

• Confirmation by students & trainer that they are ready for assessment
• Notification to WH&SQ of assessment (min. 3 working days)
• Assessment conducted by one of our accredited WH&SQ assessors

• Apply relevant commonwealth / state legislation & codes of practice applicable to the use of this machine
• Principles of duty of care
• Shut down of crane
• Operators responsibilities
• Pre-operational checks
• Safe operation of crane
• Hazard awareness
• Lifting gear and ratings
• Load assessment
• Crane stability and strength, load ratings, slinging and securing loads
• Hand and whistle signals and Essential calculations & math.

Pre-requisites (Assessment Only)

• Completed log book; and /or
• Challenge Test
• 3 Forms of ID
• Q Gov Account (can be created at SDS Training)
• Must be 18 years or over

Clothing / Footwear

• Enclosed footwear and appropriate clothing

Course Outcomes
Upon successful completion you will receive a Nationally Recognised Statement of Attainment and the opportunity to lodge your application with Work Health and Safety Queensland for your Nationally Recognised high-risk work licence.
