This unit of competency covers identifying and orally reporting common construction hazards, understanding basic risk control measures, and identifying procedures for responding to potential incidents and emergencies. It also covers correctly selecting and fitting common personal protective equipment (PPE) used for construction work.
The unit relates directly to the general induction training program specified by the National Code of Practice for Induction for Construction Work (ASCC 2007) required to enter a construction work site. Completion of unit CPCCWHS1001 covers this requirement.
The white card is a requirement for anyone who wants to work in the construction industry. Once the course has been completed and you are deemed competent you will be provided with a Statement of Attainment and issued your Construction ‘White Card’.
Please Note: It is expected that site-specific induction training will be conducted prior to conducting construction work.
