Through the CSQ Short Course Program, eligible Queensland building and construction industry workers can access subsidised training across selected short courses, machinery training, High Risk Work Licences and other industry competencies.

SDS Training delivers selected CSQ-funded training from our Maryborough and Rockhampton locations, as well as through workplace and other delivery options where available.

Program Start: 1 October 2026
Program End: 30 September 2027

What Is the CSQ Short Course Program?

The CSQ Short Course Program provides subsidised training for eligible people working in Queensland’s building and construction industry.

The program supports practical skills and competencies that can help workers meet industry requirements, develop new skills and build capability across the construction workforce.

The training available through SDS Training includes selected:

Machinery training
High Risk Work Licences (HRWL)
Workplace health and safety training
Construction industry competencies
Short courses and skill-based training

Course availability, eligibility requirements and participant contributions vary depending on the training program.

Who Can Access CSQ Short Course Funding?

CSQ funding is designed to support eligible people working in Queensland’s building and construction industry.

Eligibility depends on the requirements of the CSQ Short Course Program, the course you’re interested in and your individual circumstances.

You may be eligible if you are working in, or have recently worked in, the Queensland building and construction industry and meet the relevant program requirements.

Final eligibility is subject to CSQ program requirements, supporting evidence and SDS Training’s assessment.

Where Is CSQ Short Course Training Delivered?

Maryborough
Our Maryborough hub services the Wide Bay and surrounding areas, with training available across selected courses.
Rockhampton
Our Rockhampton hub services Central Queensland, including surrounding construction and civil workforces.
Workplace Training
Where available and appropriate, SDS can also deliver training in the workplace.
