TLILIC0012 Licence to operate a vehicle loading crane (capacity 10 metre tonnes and above).

Licence to Operate a Boom type Elevating Work Platform units of competency covers the functions required to operate boom type elevating work platforms (EWP) with lengths of 11 metres or more. These standards meet the competency requirements of the National Standard for Licensing Persons Performing High Risk Work.

Both Civil and Mining Competencies are available for this Machine.

Formal Training conducted by SDS: (both theory and practical)

• Duration 2 days (Day 1: Training Day 2: Assessment)
• Issuance of log book for recording of practical hours under supervision, or:
• Challenge Test completion (no log book required with successful pass)
• *Option of conducting log book hours on-site.

Assessment

• Confirmation by students & trainer that they are ready for assessment
• Notification to WH&SQ of assessment (min. 3 working days)
• Assessment conducted by one of our accredited WH&SQ assessors

• apply relevant commonwealth / state legislation & codes of practice applicable to the use of EWP
• understand emergency procedures & safety equipment (use of safety harness)
• recording & maintaining EWP operations information
• assess ground conditions
• calculate / estimate loads to ensure EWP is not overloaded
• complete the positioning, stabilising, set-up of EWP
• operate EWP using best mobile practice
• use appropriate communication skills
• apply risk management & hazard controls
• use & interpret manufacturer’s specifications and data
• identify problems and equipment faults & where appropriate demonstrate appropriate response procedures
• inspection and care of a wide range of lifting equipment to appropriate Australian Standards and/or manufacturer’s specifications.

• Q Gov Account (can be created at SDS Training)
